Well for as long as I can remember I've wanted to go to Dale Hollow to smallmouth fish at least one time. We never really have just cuz its exspensive to get there with the boat and everything. We decided that this spring were goin to take the trip. It will probably just be me dad n my girlfriend. This will probably be the only chance I ever get to go to the lake and fish. I was just wanderin if anybody has any tips for us when we hit the lake. Lookin to go in april or may. You can PM me if you dont want to share info with the whole world

I like throwing small crankbaits that run around 8 feet deep that time of year on some certain red clay banks that have cedars and what not down in them with the river channel nearby. Then again I just catch smallmouth by accident when fishing Dale Hollow, I target LG's and KY's for tournaments but do run into smallmouths alot. Most of my over 21 Smallmouth from DH have actually came in the dead of summer during the day but I seem to be only one that does that, guess because Im fishing 50-60 feet water that time of year. The best smallmouth fishing for most people is the night fishing that takes place from late June to August. Just PM me closer to the time your going, I usually go at least 2 times a week during the Spring and Summer.

Throw 4-5 inch Chartreuse Grubs and shakyheads in early May and you will catch a bunch of the hungry post spawners. Here are some pics from our trip in May.
