Went crappie fishing this morning at daylight, cold, cold, cold... not another soul but me fishing there today. I caught a ton of short crappies, 1 10.5 inch crappie, 1 white bass or "stripe", 4 good sized panfish 1 pound being the largest. I guess all in all, it was a decent morning.

A ton of short crappies sounds pretty good to me. I've always enjoyed catching them on jigs and ultra light more than any other type of fishing. It's OK with me if they don't make 10". Its the catchin' that's the thing! And besides, bream fillets are a pretty good substitute for the eating part of it.

they are slow right now Mr.big, been catching a few, but most are short.
