I went to take some practice shots in my garage and it happened. The bow string came off the top cam of the bow. Scared me half to death. Thank god Headhunter was still awake. We used his bow press to put it back on. Not sure why it happened, but it did. Hitting the woods shortly.

Now it shoots nice and smooth like it did a few days ago.

It's usually caused by cam lean or torquing the handle . You must have had a string off track in the cam . I'd have to look at it to find out the cause . Be careful , it could happen again if you didn't find out what the source of the problem was .

From your comment in the other thread, I would have that thing looked over really good.

Sounds as though something is out of sync, possibly binding slightly. May have even stuck when the strick was released and you jumped the string off.

There may have been a stick or other object stuck between the cam and string too ? This can cause the string to bind up and track off the cam .
