Evidently that's a shortened 458 wildcat case shortened to 2 inches from 2.495 to fit the Model 7 short action. It's probably not really the same as a full-powered 458 but you still get the big bore. Just guessin'.

That's gonna hurt. No two ways around it. Get you some good 350 Gr. jacketed bullets or some 385 to 400 Gr. cast and push them about 1900 FPS. Your .270 can't even outperform a .458 load like that at the ranges we hunt.
