I am wanting to check in on making one to two home made blinds. I don't want to spend a lot.
I want it big enough for 2 and maybe a little heater.
I also think I want these elevated not sure how high though.
Not sure a design or what the cost would be.
Anyone got any ideas?

I seen the post on here about making a blind out of wooden pallets so i picked up some for free the other day and plan on trying that this next year. i reckon ill stand them up and make a box out of them and just add a sheet of plywood to the top for a roof and then use some camo burlap or a tarp around the sides of it.

We've done the pallet blinds in the past, still have two of them in use and have killed deer from both.
Not the fanciest, but cheap is always good!

I used a pallet once to build a blind. Used a pallet for the floor. Used 2x4's to make 4 posts (1 on each corner) and then attached heavy black plastic around the outside to block the wind. I then wrapped camo burlap around that for you know blending in purposes. I then left a gap about 12 inches from the top to shoot through. Put a piece of 3/4" plywood on top for a roof. Works best to have atleast 12" of overhang to keep blowing rain out. I then used 4x4 posts under the pallet to use for skids. Then I could pull it behind an atv to where ever I wanted to hunt. Used a camo net or natural spot to hide the atv and hunted. This made me a believer of hunting mid-day for bucks during the rut. Saw a big buck chasing a doe but never got a clear shot.... this all happened after pulling the blind to said spot and while "brushing" it in.....

the armeriastep doghouse is the way I prefer.
it is easy to put up, take down and move or store.
got another one for Christmas and hubby says he caught it on sale for fifty bucks.
they block the wind, will retain heat from the body, and are almost put up instantly. I use for turkey hunting also.
Just keep a bottle of scent elimination inside and spray after each hunt. It keeps the human order down to where bucks will even leave scrapes inches from the sides. I've had that happen three times since I started using the ground blinds.

Here's a design we use on our lease. Start out with a 16' hog panel from your local co-op. Bend it in a circle and either weld it or wire it together. Use a sawz-all to cut out your window and door openings. Wrap a heavy duty tarp around the outside and secure with zip ties. Attach some kind of top (we used solid mobile home doors we bought at a salvage store for $3 a piece) and you're set. These are just the right size for two hunters sitting in full sized lawn chairs. We about 20 of these and have less than $40 in each. TRHC.
