I've never been sauger fishing and was invited to fish below Pickwick dam on December 13th any suggestions?

Get a spinning rod and reel with 1-1/4 oz jigs. You can buy them at the BP station in Counce

If you going to be fishing out of a boat, most guys use those big sauger jigs, you can buy them at the BP station in counce, you just drop it to bottom and jig it up and down, some guys tips them with a minnow.A simple spinnig reel and rod works fine, with 8 to 10 lb.test.
A lot of guys fish from the bank at night, right up agianst the dam, most of them throws a 1/4 leadhead with some kind of grub, you cast it out and slowly reel it in,letting it bump the bottom.Lots of rocks so take lots of leadheads.

Spinning reel, 6'6" rod or 7', 8lb mono, I use heavy 1 1/4 -1 3/4 oz egg sinker on chains like the necklace looking chains, with 15-20lb leader line, with bead, bead, bead, Colorado spinner, bead, bead, hook, minnow. =)

^^^ this kind of sinker.

^^^ catch these

anymore questions?
