Not sure what the best is today,about 10 yrs ago, I started my sons out with Mossberg Bantam 20 ga. Factory choke tube wasn't too impressive, so I bought Hastings turkey choke tubes for 20 ga. That turned them little guns into some real turkey takers. Good Luck to Ya!!

I haven't looked for them but I have a Winchester Model 120 that is a youth model 20-gauge pump that my parents bought me when I was a kid. My nephew who was 8 at the time killed his first turkey with it last spring.

My son took his first turkey last year with a Mossberg 500, 20 gauge with a Hastings turkey choke in it. Don't know the exact yardage but I was impressed with how hard the thing shot. That turkey died right there and it was a good 40 yards or better. I've been shooting a ten gauge and that is making me rethink my options as well. Too old for that much recoil anymore.

In my humble opinion the Winchester model 1300 "youth" is the only true youth shotgun out there.
With the slide location it is perfect for smaller shooters.
That coupled with a turkey choke is deadly.

With the slide location it is perfect for smaller shooters.
That coupled with a turkey choke is deadly.
i had a hard time finding turkey chokes for that gun in 20.
