Had a great striped bass (rockfish) trip to Pickwick Dam, yesterday, with some friends from Greenfield, Tenn.
We caught a lot of 'em in the boils on (Strike) King Shads and some on the new SK Shadalicious. My partners said they were disappointed in the size fish caught, but I wasn't. You could get a strike with nearly every cast. We caught several around the 10-pound mark and a bunch under that.
Pictured is outdoorsman extraordinaire Joe Stout. I also attached a photo of the SK King Shad. Taylor

Great pics., great trip!

I'm engaged to a gal from Savannah, TN (near Pickwick). You're in charge of entertainment when I come in town! \:D I guess I could leave room for Bill Dance, too.

Hey Gil,

Trip didn't start off too well, got a speeding ticket in Adamsville. 43 mph in a 30.
I thought I was in a 45.
Officer pointed out where the 45 sign was, about 50 yards behind where I stopped the vehicle.
He was courteous, just doing his job. I shoulda been paying more attention.

I wouldn't wait on Bill...but, you never know, if you tell him the fish are REALLY biting (LOL).

Anybody heard any reports on smallmouth in the tailwaters of Pickwick?
(Not that I am going to have time to go, working to pay off speeding tickets and all.)

They are killing smallies on Pickwick Lake or was a week ago. Smallies were chasing shad in the back of sloughs.

Lots of big fish were shocked up on the lake also so they are moving up good.

The lower end of the lake including the Tennessee side should be on right now with the warm daytime temps.

Once the water cools down in December the upper end really picks up more.

I wonder if anyone is catching any crappie around Bear Creek right now? I haven't heard much on them this fall.
