Mess of Purple Hull peas

Pretty good yield on my Top Pick purple hull peas grown in containers. What kind of peas do you guys grow?

Most everyone at the Memphis Agricenter was charging $5 per bag. But I found one guy charging 2 bags for $8.

I always buy a half a bushel and make the kids shell them, for fun of course.

To me they are pretty hard to shell when they are like you show. We generally let them dry out some more making them much easier to shell. I have some just about ready to pick.

shelling wasnt that bad. i made a pea sheller out of an old washing machine roller top. still had to feed them in there though.

They are my favorite by far. I eat them all then drink the juice .

Purple fingers, lol.. Have not done them in a while. My girls like zipper creams a little better.
