The .555 constriction chokes are hit or miss depending on the load and/or the firearm. Sometimes they shoot nice tight patterns....other times, they blow the pattern out. It looks like what you're shooting will definitely get the job done. It's the factory choke that comes with the 301 I'd have to mix it to see what restriction it is I tried a Carlson .555 and it wasn't as good as factory I think it was to tight
X2. The only choke I have seen that consistently patterns well with a .555 constriction is Indian Creek. But I like something in the .562-.570 range. The .555 constriction chokes are hit or miss depending on the load and/or the firearm. I currently have two different chokes that I can use in my 20 gauge. One is a .568 and the other is a .565. Haven't seen the need to go any tighter in constriction. The majority places I turkey hunt are woodland areas. With those two chokes, the pattern is not too tight at 20 yards but still puts plenty of pellets on target at 40 yards using TSS. If I was onto mostly field birds, I'd have a closer look at maybe a .560 or a .555.X2. The only choke I have seen that consistently patterns well with a .555 constriction is Indian Creek.
