Be sure you see how cold it will feel with the wind chill chart below before your venture out into the Tennessee Deer Woods this winter. When you combine cold temperatures and high winds, the result is wind chill. As the wind robs the body of moisture, we feel cooler than the actual temperature around us.

Legend:

  • Some danger: 0 to -20 degrees. Exposed skin can freeze within 5 minutes.
  • Increasing danger: -20 to -70 degrees. Exposed skin can freeze within 1 minute.
  • Great danger: -70 degrees and below. Exposed skin can freeze in 30 seconds.
