I would be interested in something like that. I have been wanting to do a 24hr run. But a hike would be ok with a few other people.

Finished another 25K this weekend. I didn’t push super hard and made it through with no major cramps like I normally get.
I have been running some hill repeats 1000 ft over 4 miles or so. Also tried our some Hammer Nutrition race supplements. I think it all helped, I was able to finish at a nice comfortable run.

I’d like to make it happen. That climb out of Fontana is pretty taxing.

That is impressive! I’m in the best shape I have been in my 50 years, but no way I could or would do that. I have a friend in CO that is 54 I think and he did a 100k a couple months ago in those mountains! He did a 100 mile race a few years ago! Nuts to me but I get it, all about how far you can push yourself.

Continue to run 15-20 miles per week. Did 5 miles today under 9 minutes per. Also 200 pushups and 100 situps every day.

I'm pretty sure I make this post just after Thanksgiving every year. I'm getting back to doing something as hunting season winds down. I actually made it out 3 times this week.Image

Is this the 25k at Montgomery Bell? If so, how are the trails out there to run on? I've never stepped foot on the place, but since moving to middle TN, I've been looking for some new places to run within an hour of the house and this is right at an hour away.

Yes, this is the Bell Ringer.

At Montgomery Bell the trails are great in places and washouts in others. For the most part, they are pretty good, but some of the hills have some pretty good ruts from rain. Just need to keep your eyes on the trail as there are many roots & rocks, but there are some flats where you can focus ahead. I enjoy it because I live about 4 miles from the park.

I set a personal best yesterday. I ran 5.4 miles in 50 minutes with an average pace of 9:16. I did the whole thing without walking. Never done that on the road before, just the treadmill.

I'm not exactly killing it, but I did make it out twice this week for almost 6 miles total.

First ever trail run race. Before Saturday my longest outing was 7.1 miles in 1:42. Typically I'd run a 1.5 to 3 mile loop about every other weekend during the summer and late fall until deer season started. Saturday was a 25k. Around mile 11, I hit the wall. Finished, just over 10 minutes of my target time, but was satisfied. Will definitely try again and will actually train this time.

Good job on the race!

I’ve been slacking big time. Between trying to sneak some hunting in between my daddy duties and the busy Taxidermy season I’ve neglected the gym.
Been twice this week. Legs are sore and my endurance is weak. I was able to push through 100 burpees today in around 12mins. Not bad considering my legs are toast from squats and KB swings and the fact I gave up after 50 burpees on Monday.

2020 will be here in no time, with that will come new motivation.

I beat my inner fat man today and got a treadmill run in. I hate running with a passion that burns hotter than the sun. That is what makes it such an achievement for me. All that said, my wife is heading out to run 18 miles in the NE wind and misty rain. I don’t feel emasculated at all.

Forget about it. I tapped out on my wife being better than me at most everything a decade ago.
Good news is she needs me to lift heavy stuff and cook. With the exception of the one thing a man is good for she is pretty well self sufficient, other than that she wins.

Hunting, I’m a better hunter. Granted, she doesn’t hunt but if she did I would end up doing the dirty work....

Beer and breast, yes sir and yes mam.
