By the way, I’m looking for some used 33x12.5x15s ATs or MTs if anyone knows of any for sale close the Cleveland area. Not wanting to pay a whole lot.

It has the manual locking hubs.

Good deal! Someone must have already changed them out.

I’ll have a set of 31/10.50/15 for sale within the next couple of weeks. BFG, KO2’s with right under 6k on them, basically new and I’m in Bradley/Cleveland.

Yeah I believe the previous owner did. Thanks for the info though. I appreciate any advice or info I can get about the truck as I’ve never owned one.

I had a 97 also, ran the chitt out of it. The hard body Nissans are my favorite and would buy one today.
I think mine had about 260,000 on it when I sold it.

Nice rig btw. A locker and a winch and it should get you where you need to be.

I’ve seen those long lift shackles like that “fold over” on more occasions than one. There’s just better ways to go about gaining clearance. There are some quality some shackles available that gain a inch or so but from what I can tell in the pic, those appear to be the cheap adjustable ones like you buy at Autozone. Not knocking the truck at all, those things are tuff as nails!

Gotcha. I agree the cheap stuff on suspension can cost ya more in the long run than it ever saves up front. We made longer lift shackles for my samurai. So they were plenty strong enough. But I didn’t care for the amount of lean it allowed my rig to take on. I got a much better end result playing with the leaves in my spring packs. Took a thin one out of the middle and replaced it with a thicker one. Did the trick perfectly.

New Toy

Postby Simpleman.2 » Sun Aug 12, 2018 10:16 pm

Changed the oil and filter today. Going to put new spark plugs and plug wires in it soon. I think I’m going to go ahead and change the transmission fluid also. I’ve got a question for any of you Nissan guys. Do you know how much transmittion fluid to put back in it? It’s a 1997 4x4 manual. I searched online and from what I’ve read someone said 5.125 pints or 2.562 quarts of GL-4 SAE 75W-90, But I also saw where someone said 5.1 quarts??? I know overfilling is bad so I wanted to make sure as I don’t have the manual.
