Looking for a .243 or .308 for deer hunting locally. Likely one by daughter will grow into as she grows older. I've been looking at the ads for a while and thought may be easier just to ask. Thanks.

Thanks to those that responded. I was at Wal-Mart and found a .243 on clearance. Way too good of a price to pass up (very dangerous I know).

Was it the Weatherby Vangaurd Select? I saw some of those on clearance yesterday. I was tempted to try one in a 308 and have heard they are great shooters.The only thing that stopped me is I was told they have a 2 stage trigger and I'm not sure how well I would like that.
It was - I have the same in 7mm RemMag that I've used out west and love it. The .243 will work well for my daughter and a great "excuse" for an extra gun. They had Savage and other models as well.
