Book Readers

Postby gtk » Tue Mar 27, 2018 8:46 am

I'm not a big "reader". . I'll read my RMEF magazine, Civil War Times, F&S , Outdoor Life, etc, but that's about it..

I've been hearing of a set of books by author C.J. Box. His books are about a Montana Game Warden named Joe Pickett , and the "stuff" he gets in to..

So I bought the 1st two books in his series, and got open season yest in the mail. I started reading it right before supper, and finished the book about 10:30 last night. I couldn't put it down ..

So, if you enjoy reading, I highly recommend you get his books (in order)..

The "Drake in the Morning" radio show in Memphis on 98.1 has a couple of regular authors on the program when books come out. Drake Hall is an avid reader, and really promotes the authors he likes. CJ Box is one of his favorites, and talks with him frequently. Apparently, you have a lot of Joe Pickett novels to catch up on.....he writes a ton of them

Save yourself some money and get the box set. They are great. If you like a little super natural mixed with outdoors, check out Moosejaw and Moosejaw II.

thats what lead to to start reading these.. I despise just about everything that comes out of Drake Halls mouth 95% of the time, but he does some good interviews & love listening to lawyer bill. I think tomorrow is the 1st time he will be talking to CJ Box ?

I just finished “vicious circle” by Box. It was a really good one. A bad guy also looses a ear or two!

Joe Pickett is a good series, I also like the Walt Longmire series. Pretty big difference between the book and the series.

I'm the same way......if Thursday morning hits, and Lawyer Bill isn't on, my week is knocked down a peg.

But I think he's had CJ Box on a number of times, as well as David Baldacci. They're always enjoyable listens.

I have read all of them...fantastic books. Set in Wyoming although he does sometimes step out of state.

Have been on a William Johnstone kick lately. He wrote a ton of books about mountain men and western figures. Main character in many books is a guy called Preacher...might want to look into them if you get a chance.
