Wanting to drill and tap an 1100 I m turning into a tactical style shotgun. Anyone done it? Interested in a Burris FastFire 8 MOA. Curious as to what base would be best to use

Are you gonna drill and tap side of receiver or top?

My 1100 experience is pretty old but is there enough metal back there to hold a set of bases?

I don't know if B-Square makes one for 1100 but, if you could find a picatinny rail, that would be good. I've got 2 made by B-quare on a couple different Mausers and love them.

B Square and Aimtech both make mounts that do not require drilling and tapping.

No matter where you go, there you are

Guess the speed bead mount could be an option as well without having to tap receiver. Easy but not sure I’d like that

yeah but you wont be able to short stock without it hitting you in the chin. if it has a vent rib, they make a vent rib tail. for a tactical shotgun id want it as far up as i could.

Some recent 870`s are drilled and tapped. Weaver makes a base for those and I`d bet are interchangeable to the 1100.
