Lightning Stikes Twice

Lightning Stikes Twice

Postby TiminTN » Tue Nov 05, 2019 11:01 am

Well to say I`ve had a good shooting year is an understatement. Back on Oct 19th we had our last match of the year at Como MS shooting 600 yd F-Class. The powers at be decided to have a points challenge for shooters completing 5 matches. The highest score would win a piece of wood to hang on the wall. I had no clue I was near the top till a guy I do work for told me to be sure and not miss the October match because I was within 1 point of the leader. WHAT??? This was my year to learn how to shoot F-Class, good grief! Well the last match I pulled off the come from behind to win the coveted piece of wood says "I`m Shooter of the Year" Lol. Great fun, great people.

Well lo and behold Sunday right here in TN we shoot at MSSA benchrest match called Possom Holler, it was given this tongue in cheek title because its not any sanctioned event, with club made rules. Its a score only match shooting IBS targets at 600 yds. There is a spreadsheet with scores listed for each month and in the rules you can shoot 10 matches but you can only count your best 8 scores for the possibility to win "Shooter of the Year" well I guess you know where this is going!! I was fortunate enough to pull this award off as well.!! Great year, great friends, thanks for listening!!

At 63 yrs old this is about as good as it gets!!

Thank you Lord !!!

Congratulations Tim that’s quite a big deal! I shoot FTR at MSSA myself and love it. But, I’m nowhere near as good but making steady improvements which is what I’m after.
