Gun Rail on Bow Stand?

Postby TX300mag » Tue Dec 25, 2018 11:49 am

Has anybody figured out easy ways to make a gun rail for an open stand? I've got some lock-ons and most recently picked up a couple of Rivers Edge 2 man bowmans for the kids but they will be gun hunting (at least for a while). Does anybody make have any experience with the less expensive flip downs?

I've carried my extendable bipod into the stand and used that...

Years ago I used a handle from a push lawn mower as a foot rest on my climber. Could you use something like that?

I take the top half of a Summit climber and hang it on a hook above my strap on stand. After I climb into the stand I lower the climber section down to the correct height and cinch it down with a ratchet strap. Now I have a more comfortable seat, and a padded gun rest 360 degrees around me.

I bought the climber used, so I still have my good Summit Goliath when I need a climbing stand.
