Miniature cattle?

So my daughter has been looking at these. Do people really sell them for these high prices?

What type of prices? Dexter seem to bring a pretty good price around here.

I’ve seen anywhere from 1000.00 to 2500.00.
1000.00 being heifers and 2500 being proven cows.
And can’t seem to find any information on commercial sale of meat or are they just raised as pets.

I know a guy that raises them and just takes his to market to sell. If I was raising market cattle I'd opt for a breed that topped out with more weight.

It seems to be a niche market. The main benefit seems to be a family being able to afford or store an entire side of beef. That's what I'm banking on, anyway.

I want a little cow that will keep my grass mowed and then just slaughter it each fall for steaks. Who needs a big cow in the city?
