Fun little crappie troll

Postby Dbllunger » Thu Jul 11, 2019 9:03 am

I went to Percy Priest yesterday afternoon to do a little trolling for crappie. Luckily some cloud cover kept the heat down and it was quite enjoyable. I managed 8 keeper crappie and released 1 short. Also caught several white bass, two hybrids, probably 7-8 yellow stripe and one 14 inch largemouth released. The biggest crappie on the right in the picture was just a hair over 14 inches and the smallest was a little over 10 inches. I was trolling 200 series Bandit crankbaits in 14-16 foot of water at 2.2-2.5 mph. After loading up the boat and getting everything secure, I looked up and saw two little bucks just 40 yards from me without a care in the world. A fun afternoon.

Always amazes me how productive JPP can be in spite of the fishing pressure it gets. :super:

I wish I lived closer to PP. Looks to be a great crappie lake.

Very nice! Priest is hot right now. Good time to load up on crappie. Catfish have been feisty, too.
