Buy a CVA Scout or Hunter in 45/70. Send it to Center Punch USA for the conversion to a SML. That is about as cheap as it gets. Bestill Creations is great also but he might be booked for awhile.

x2. I bought a CVA Scout V2 in .45-70, used Bestill Creations, and have been extremely satisfied. Gun, conversion, shipping, all in, about $600. One of my favorite firearms I own. Short, light, compact, nimble and accurate.
