Summer plots?

What annuals do you guys put out for your plots? I have a couple small spots that i want to put annuals in each fall, so I don't necessarily want to do clover since the deer would likely keep it down to nothing.

i wouldnt bother with summer annuals if the deer would wipe out a perennial clover. Wheat is a good option. The deer eat the leaves all winter, and everything eats the heads in the summer. 2 acres minimum per patch is probably a good place to start if you have many deer around. I'd focus on improving the native forage first.
