Felons, Firearms and a Lease

Postby Deck78 » Mon Mar 04, 2019 8:08 am

Can a felon hunt with any type of firearm including muzzleloader or are they limited to a bow in TN? The property that adjoins us has a lease and the primary leaseholder is a felon and therefore shouldn't be able to hunt with anything outside of a bow correct?

It depends on the sentencing order as written by the judge. In most cases, a felon can use a muzzleloader to hunt as long as it is a flintlock or uses percussion caps. They are banned from having any shotgun primers in their possession under another federal law.
