Gift from a good friend

Postby Lost Lake » Sat Aug 29, 2020 5:44 pm

I got the Traditional bug back around 1988 or so, by watching a buddy named Jim shooting his Bighorn recurve, and seeing all the deer he killed with it. The bug bit hard and I’ve not deviated much from it concerning bowhunting.

Fast forward to last year, and a good friend named Greg gifted me his old Bighorn. It’s in great shape, and I know he’s killed dozens upon dozens of deer with it.

Unbeknownst to me, Greg was the one who first got a Bighorn, and it motivated Jim to buy a one all those years ago, so in a way, this bow started the Trad itch for me. It’s now one of my most prized possessions. Funny how things turn out.

It’s 53 pounds at my draw length, sweet shooting and damp in the hand, and puts an arrow right where you look. It’ll accompany me this October quite a bit.

Thanks guys. I’ve got quite a few bows but this one is special to me for sure.
