The best of this springs pickups...

Postby dg7080 » Thu Jul 13, 2017 8:38 am

Here's the better stuff I picked up when my neighbor plowed his dove field a month or so back.. I found about 4 x's this much, mostly broken points, tips, etc.. But this is the better of the pile.. I think my favorite piece might be the little pocket knife size scraper over on the far right.. The sorta off-white square piece in the upper middle is sandstone, no sandstone in this area, not sure what they were doing with it...

Thanks Rugers.. Yea, I've found one spear point in the creek right out in front of the house.. Found a few odd points near the creek but not in it.. There's a zillion and one rocks in these creeks around here so it's a pain to spot them in there..

My neighbors dove field is on a southern facing, flat high point right in the Y of where two large creeks merge. It must have been a hunting camp off and on for thousands of years. We are going to dig a few test holes in it to see if anything is down below the plow line, just aint had time to do that yet..

Very nice stuff.

I bet you will get into some good ones if you dig where you described. Thanks for sharing.
