New tree rat getter

Postby Grill-n-man » Fri Apr 26, 2019 11:21 am

Barrel is an old CVA squirrel 32cal that was given to me that I had a good friend who just so happens to build muzzleloaders build me a new gun. Haven’t had the chance to shoot her yet but I’ll bet it will be worth the wait.

Those old CVA barrels generally shot well. Unique way to keep the ramrod and it's a flinter. Is that a small Siler lock?

Flintlock....the only truly reliable source of ignition for a muzzle loader.

Thanks

The wood used in the stock was left from another build and just wasnt enough left to be able to get the forearm cut to get the ram rod end to slide into without piecing it together. But i like the uniqueness as it adds just a little more to the custom build. As for the lock I cant remember what it is, was caught up in the excitement to get it.

This makes the forth one of his muzzle loaders builds I have ( 40cal pistol, 36cal percussion long rifle, and 28ga long barreled smoothbore ) along with about 9 of his longbows and all are top notch
