I'm thankful they are safe, but am not optimistic about their prospects for the future.

“Right now, my kid’s grandma said she’s going to help us because I’m here from California. So, me and the kids don’t have anything. We’re basically trying to salvage whatever we can… just taking it one day at a time,” she said.

I have a feeling she's been depending on others (read: taxpayers) for quite some time before the fire as well...
