Five Children Escape Memphis House Fire

I'm thankful they are safe, but am not optimistic about their prospects for the future. :(

"....Single parenthood is hard, but it's worth it now that I know my kids are alive and breathing,” Crawford said. Even though the family lost their house, toys and other materialistic items Crawford said she’s depending on others during this challenging time.

“Right now, my kid’s grandma said she’s going to help us because I’m here from California. So, me and the kids don’t have anything. We’re basically trying to salvage whatever we can… just taking it one day at a time,” she said.

Crawford told FOX13 their pit bull, whom they bought just a few weeks ago, died in the fire....."

I have a feeling she's been depending on others (read: taxpayers) for quite some time before the fire as well...
I'd rather be deplorable than despicable.

They'll be fine, we'll take care of them. We be rich. Hate it for the pit.

That's correct, right?
