Pretty much anything you want to talk about!

Dislocated elbow (wife)

Postby duckduck84 » Thu Apr 19, 2018 11:31 am

So guys I gotta share this. Wife and I were at church last night and she goes outside with the boys and some of the other leaders while I stayed downstairs for a minute to work with our children's pastor.

Well a few minutes later one of the junior leaders comes in all out of breath yelling they needed me outside now. Come to find out my wife had slipped trying to stand up on a log and dislocated her elbow. Got her to the ER at one of the hospitals in our system, they get her back, and start trying to get pain meds in her. Dilaudid IV in... Not really working. They ended up putting it back in with just minimal pain meds because it wasn't working on her. She's good now but let me tell y'all something...

I'm pretty sure my wife is way tougher than I am.

Dilaudid, that stuff is garbage. Makes me sick. Hope the wife is all better now. Yeah, if she can stand all of that, you better not mess with her. :)

I honestly don't know. The boys were playing soccer and she said she just decided to step up on it and it rolled just enough she lost her balance. Country girls lol

Lol it made my brother in law hallucinate. He said his legs climbed up the ceiling and laughed at him.

LOL my best friends mom was on it not long ago.
She saw people sitting in her car outside, little girls pushing baby strollers down the street, cats in the doctor's office and monkeys running all around the house.

Ouch! That's not a good pic in my mind. You right if she can stand that she is probably tougher than you and a whole lot of us men.

Glad she is doing ok. As a general rule, it has been my experience in my dental office that women are much tougher than men. I see it time and time again. Men are big babies and women are tough as nails.

My wife did that years ago, tell her to do herself a favor and keep working that elbow until she regains all motion. My wife did.

We followed up with the Ortho doc this afternoon and that is his plan. She's gonna be in a splint for a week, then a controlled motion brace to stretch it back out. Then some PT.
