870 Finished

Postby String Music » Fri Jul 14, 2017 4:46 am

My youth 870 20ga is finally complete. I had the stocks dipped in original bottomland after the season and I'm very pleased with how they turned out.

This "little" gun was a joy to hunt with last spring. This has been a really fun project and would make a great off-season project for anyone in the market for a dedicated turkey gun.ImageImageImage

Who is dipping the original Bottomland? I haven't seen anyone offering it yet.

Gun: $300
Cerakote, dipping, drill & tap: $200
Stock: $70
Bushnell trs-25: $100
Choke: $30
Trigger spring: $20

About $750. The nice thing about this project is the ability to spread the cost out over time. All you need to hunt is the gun and choke to start.

The main reason is the 21" barrel. It's also cheaper. The new Shureshot stock is for an adult. It essentially turns it into a full-size gun with 21" barrel. It's a dream to carry and swings so easily in the woods.

Bummer. Most Walmarts should have them in stock if you can check around.
