Has anyone ordered from him lately. Trying to reach him to order a Maple slate over glass pot. Hasn't returned call in 5 days. Wondering how far out his waiting list might be.

I'm pretty sure he is no longer taking orders.
Correct.

I've been waiting a little better than a year and last month he told me it will prolly be 2 more yrs before I get it..
Same here. Back in 2015, his turn around time was 18 months. To further delay delivery time, he and his wife are expecting a baby in a couple of weeks.

Figured it was going to be a wait. Buddy of mine from North Georgia was here last week and had one. I thought my Lonzo maple slate over glass sounded good, and it does, but that call was on another level. If he will return my call I will order one. In the mean time, I guess I'll try and trade for one on Old Gobbler :p Let the drama begin with those pansies :)

Not sure how anyone could get enough of Paul's calls to be called a hoarder. Some people consider themselves to be collectors tho.......I might fit into this category myself... I appreciate a well-crafted truly custom call..

Guess I won't be getting one of them. Had heard one a few years back and guess I should have jumped on it back then. I'll wait until someone new builds one better :)

I just listened to a bunch of his YouTube videos and I really liked that cherry aluminum over slate and his maple slate. I'd just hate to wait so long on something I would want so bad.

Are his calls really that good Warren?
From the soundfiles I have listened to, they are not light years above any of the other well respected custom call guys (Lon Trice, Darrin Dawkins, etc). Other's opinions may vary.

What makes them apart from the other custom calls
He is a relatively new call maker and the few calls that he has produced have been quality craftsmanship and full of turkey, and at a very fair price from him.

.........and why does it take so long to get them?
One man show, obviously not concerned about volume (mass producing), and his wife is about to have a baby, if not already, thus the delivery time will be further delayed based on a recent email from him to me.

In my opinion, the madness over his calls right now is more to do with supply (extremely low) and demand (high), thus causing a lot of buzz in the turkey hunting world at the moment.

What Andy said. The slate over glass pot I heard had a real good effortless yelp. I'm not waiting a year, much less 2 years, for a call though, no matter how good I think it sounds. My Lonzo slate over glass has fooled plenty. Besides, I just got my Buice trumpet and it is bada## :)

Yea, I've got all the calls I need for now. Going to Unicoi in January. Going to look into a glass over slate maple pot from Lon while I'm there. That is one hell of a show for anyone that might be interested. Just across the state line in NE Georgia mountains. Close for some of us anyway :D
